Welcome!
I hope you are reading this blog because you stumbled upon the mytincup.com website and became intrigued by the uniqueness of the goal: to support college students and graduates who have incurred substantial student loan debt.
There are many organizations raising money for worthy causes and I will be listing some on the mytincup.com website. However, I trust you will find the goal of helping college students and graduates, as they begin their work lives, to be a worthy cause as well.
I work with undergraduate college students, and the number one concern expressed is the student loan debt they and their families have incurred. Borrowing money to attend college is a must for many families, and without the loans – well, opportunities to be productive citizens are limited, opportunities to achieve life goals are limited, and opportunities for economic growth are also limited. However, beginning one’s work life $20,000, $40,000 or more in debt is daunting, and in its own way…limiting! “Catch-22”
Slowly, the word is getting out about the goals of this website and students are beginning to create their profiles. You will find young people who are artists; some who are working for non-profit organizations; and some who are still in college. All are striving to create a sustainable and productive life and that comes with a high price tag!
Take a moment to read student profiles—you may find a student you want to support. If so, feel free to email the student and engage in a conversation to learn more. Or, consider donating to the general fund, and feel free to contact me at kbostwick@mchsi.com
It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do a little. Do what you can.
